I lived by the saying "Don't burn your bridges." Never know when you might need one.
The company I worked for for 30 years sold the application/package that I worked in, and we went with the sale. 6 months later, I was laid off by the new company.
I took a job for a couple of years with a food distributor in their software development area, then got a call from my original company offering a job.
Took that job for a few years, then the company that laid me off called, offering me a job.
Been working with them now (from home) for about 4 years now....
Never burn bridges

That is good advise, never burn a bridge if you can help it.
