About 10 years ago I turned down a job at Stanford. I needed a minimum of $128,000 / year to be on their network IT team as a primary wireless engineer/architect. They wouldn’t come up any more than $120,000.
Ended up turning out great for me, though.
Really surprised enrollment is that low when many universities have enrollment of 40,000 or more. And the number of faculty and especially staff is beyond absurd.
