I was a beekeeper for many years. Then I moved to the suburbs. But I’m coming up with a plan to get back into keeping bees.
Ooooo, the famous number. I have always wonder where the author got that number,
We started out as hobbiest beekeepers back in 2000 just to pollinate the wildlife food plots on some investment property, with 2 hives. We enjoyed getting the honey and sharing with family so got a few more hives to go in back yard (suburban neighborhood). Once we moved to our retirement location we went whole-hog and now have 80-something hives and sell honey at the farmers market and a website and a few local stores carry it. It’s fun and some years profitable as an emergency fund.
