Somebody very rich and very bored who thinks they can buy new friends. Similar to being a Secret Santa, but overspending as you do it. Somebody who doesn’t understand people all that much and never has.
Newspapers don’t pile up on doorsteps anymore when people are gone. But food deliveries might. Except for the neighborhood animals that would swipe them. Wonder if a thief is targeting the area with deliveries to see who is and isn’t home.
My guess is that scammers stealing credit card numbers place a preliminary order like this to check and see if the number is good.
