Former reality TV star Josh Duggar has had his 12 and a half-year prison sentence extended by almost two months, as he sits in solitary confinement for having an illegal cell phone.
Duggar, 34, was arrested in April 2021 after a Little Rock police detective found images of child abuse which had been shared by a computer traced to the '19 Kids and Counting' personality.
Investigators claim the images were downloaded in 2019 onto a computer at a car dealership owned by Duggar, which prompted federal agents to search Wholesale Motorcars in November 2019.
Duggar pleaded not guilty to one count of receiving and one count of possessing child pornography, and a jury found Duggar guilty of the charges at trial in December 2021. He was initially slated to be released on August 12, 2032.
Twice this past week, however, he has had that sentence extended, first by 10 days to August 22, 2032 and then by more than another six weeks to October 2, 2023, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
In February, he was reported to be languishing in solitary confinement at FCI Seagoville near Dallas after he was found to have smuggled a cell phone into prison.
It is unclear if the cell phone led to his punishment being extended. DailyMail.com has reached out to FCI Seagoville for comment.
Duggar's attorneys have maintained they would fight the charges since he was arrested but were unable to get the case dismissed.
Attempts to suppress video evidence against him were also denied by a judge.
Duggar's attorneys said the prosecution's attempt to bring up sexual assault allegations made against the personality when he was a teenager could prejudice a jury, but witnesses were allowed to testify.
