I was given a choice in Virginia between Kaiser and Anthem. Several people I knew were on Kaiser and recommended it, so I tried it. Then after 1 year switched to Anthem. In short, Kaiser is great if nothing goes wrong. But I needed lower back surgery and waiting until I switched to Anthem. Kaiser’s list of approved back surgeons was limited. And my surgeon didn’t take Kaiser because he claimed they paid poorly on claims.
