Yep. I love the example one Freeper pointed out a while back, in the 1970s John Lennon and Yoko Ono recorded a song called “Attica state” that had the line “Free the prisoners, jail the judges, free all prisoners everywhere”.
When John Lennon was shot and killed in 1980 they sent his killer to what else? Attica state. When he came up for parole 20 years later what did Ono do? Wrote a letter to the parole board demanding he remained jailed.
WELL that was certainly a change in attitude. Free the prisoners but once I’m a victim it’s a different story.
