Foreign cultures have some strange rules regarding kids and parents. I know several people that are supporting their parents financially because it is part of their culture.

Asian populations are huge at taking care of parents - arranged marriages are often so the parents know they will be financially taken care of rather than a good match for their kids......Widows especially will interfere in love relationships if the groom isn't wealthy enough. Most Asian females want the men to have a house, car and job before marriage.
