Romney acolytes (who apparently weren’t aware that Romney was a designated pubbie Fall Guy, like McCain before him) never forgave Christie for cooperating in the boosting of Obama’s image, post-Sandy, which they believed drained the Romney for POTUS of the winning momentum they thought it had, mere days before the November 2012 election.
