Fall 2023: The war in Ukraine rages on. After getting within 20 KMs of Kiev, the Russian offensive petered out, and the NATO backed counteroffensive drove them back toward the Crimea. As the troops approached, a stealthy drone appearing to be launched from the UKR dropped a bomb on the Kremlin, damaging one of the domes. Vlad messed his pants.
The Kremlin responded with a missile that began its arc over the North Pole. As the missile was about to being its downward arc, a coherent energy beam intercepted and destroyed it. At nearly the same time, a message was broadcast on many frequencies across the globe:
“CEASE WAR”
As this was happening, the air shimmered over the capital cities of each nuclear armed nation, and spaceships appeared, hovering, not quite menacingly over each, and broadcasting the same, in many languages.
Cue the Rod Serling - Imagine if you will, a world where the nations are so eager to destroy each other that it takes extraterrestrial intervention to lead them to the peace table.
Heh.
And, of course, the one world government to follow.

They are doing a terrible job of it.
The UFO topic has been a hobby of mine for decades—and the proposal they are discussing makes no sense.
A truly advanced alien civilization would have at a minimum be able to create its own “wormholes” or “portals” to travel anywhere almost instantaneously.
I have yet to hear a convincing explanation of why they would want anything to do with pathetic homo sapiens—except possibly as a source of hor d’oeuvres if their manic rulers told them that they could only eat what they kill.
