Country music nowadays is pretty much a I - vi - ii - V progression with twangy vocals and a guitar solo that sounds like Slash is playing it.

Oh, how I wish. No-one does guitar solos like Slash. David Gilmour will always be my favorite since he evokes an almost spiritual response in me, and Prince is crazy under-noticed, but Slash, holy cow, ... as far as COMPOSING goes (not showing off), Sweet Child O’ Mine is probably the best guitar music in the history of top 40 radio.
