Before I shrunk in old age, I was just about six feet. My wife was 5’ 8”. We made a son 6’ 4”.
My father was 5’ 7” and mother barely 5 feet. My inlaws were about the same.
You have to wonder how you get such a big jump in just two generations.

Better nutrition for you and your wife than your parents and grandparents had.
Your grandparents spent their formative years (when their skeletons were striving to attain their optimal height) struggling in some obscure, overcrowded East European slum, or leading a hardscrabble life as overworked peasants somewhere in the Balkans. Breakfast consisted of cold Kasha - rarely, with a dash of milk. Lunch was a hunk of coarse bread and maybe a sliver of Sala. Supper was thin Borscht. They were coughing and spitting up blood half the time. Some of their siblings died of Tuberculosis or Cholera. Is it any wonder they weren't able to maximize their genetic potential?
