“Here’s a news article about the deployment of Ukrainian “border guards” along border with Transnistria:”
The likely plan is that soon Moldova, with NATO supplies, will launch a campaign to retake the Russian occupied parts of their country.
The Ukrainian will defend their side of the border to prevent any of that Russian garrison from being resupplied or escaping.
Transnistria is not “Russian occupied” in any military sense. Do you mean the civilians who live there?
It’s all been quite peaceable since 1992, with Moldova content to let the people of Transnistria have their autonomy. There is a joint patrol of Russian, Moldovan and Transnistrian peacekeepers there as per the 1992 agreement.
There’s a heap of ancient unstable Soviet stuff in that ammo dump that is too dangerous to transport, so there it sits. From the article I posted before:
“A possible explosion of the military depot in Cobasna can be compared to the detonation of a 10-kiloton nuclear bomb, which was dropped on the city of Hiroshima in 1945.”
The real worry is some fool from either side will get the bright idea to blow that thing and try to blame the other side.
