What happened after your meeting with HR.
“What happened after your meeting with HR.”
I got a nice raise, a visit from the big boss telling me what an asset I was to the institution and that they didn’t want to lose me, and a promise of a 10% raise again the next year (which I did receive). By the time I retired I was the department head. The other place from which I had received a job offer told me if I ever decided to leave my current position, they would have a spot for me.
It’s beneficial to be the “go to person” at work. My response to any request was “I’ll take care of it”, and I did. It paid off in good pay and respect from most of my co-workers. The only ones who were a bit antagonistic were the one or two who would tell me to my face I made them look bad. My parents taught me if I was going to take on a job, I was supposed to do the best job possible.
The year I retired they named a “Employee Award of the Year” in my name. So once a year, an employer gets the “C______Employee of the Year award” and a little bonus check. I go back and present it each year.
