When I was a 14 year old teenage boy, 40 years ago, I had sex for over a year with a 16 year old girl. I can say having sex did not damage me psychologically. But the crazed no sex for teenagers lobby would put her in prison today. My dad exclaimed, “At a boy, just don’t get her pregnant!” IMHO. YMMV.

A sincere question: What kind of 16-year-old girl has sex (over a prolonged period of time) with a boy two years her junior?

Children in their teens are extremely age-conscious. For girls, socializing and esp. dating someone below one's own cohort would be scandalous!

Absolutely no "bragging rights" for the girl - which is a major reason to date, for them. The older girl would have been compelled by social pressure to keep everything totally hushed up.
