The problem isn’t so much the having a child at 17, it’s the unmarried part. Out of wedlock births are rampant and the statistics say that most of them will end up on welfare. Get married and support your kids & I don’t really care if you’re 17, it’s cranking them out for welfare benefits and expecting the taxpayers to pay your and your offspring’s way through life that I have a problem with.
Good luck then. I had a friend in high school back in the early 1970’s, he was 16 and got his girl friend pregnant, abortion was not an option. So the parents of both agreed they should get married. It lasted about 8 years or so. It worked out to an extent. In today’s world I don’t know. lots of pressure’s on both kids.
