What’s with all you people predicting horrible things for this lucky guy? I’m happy for him and wish him well. I also hope he donates a huge amount of money to his favorite charities. That’s what I’d do and so would almost everyone I know.
I am not predicting anything. I have heard many lottery tales of people gaining this fortune. They run out and buy the fancy house, cars, boats and take numerous fancy trips while living the high life. They don’t invest anything, they just spend. Then they end up almost broke.
I am not knocking the guy.

We are basing our statements on the history of lottery winners and how quickly they and their money are soon separated. Very few handled their new wealth wisely, and about 90% of those who won such a sum, were either dead, broke, or both within a few years of claiming their funds. Books and numerous articles have been written on the subject and make an interesting read. You just shake your head at some of the financial decisions they made without even consulting a financial planner.

That’s the history of what normally happens .
Hopefully this guy knows that history and beats the odds .
One could do a ton of good with that money.
