First, you lay the carpet out on a slight slope.
Next, you lay down on the carpet at the top of the slope, grab the edge, and roll down the slope.
Once at the bottom of where ever the carpet stops rolling, you'll be unable to extricate yourself.
My airplane theory makes a lot more sense.
Well, the answer should be obvious: There was an aircraft transporting area rugs and rolls of industrial plastic flying overhead. Somehow, one of the rugs and a sheet of the plastic fell out. The rug struck the man lengthwise, entombing him in it. The impact caused the man and the rug to be moved 6 miles. Then, while the rug and the man were still rolling, the sheet of plastic gently fell on the man and rug, and the plastic was tightly wrapped around them both as they rolled.
I mean, DUH, it's kinda sad I have to take the time to explain something so obvious.
