Most Americans don’t “get” how much further north Europe is than America. Being that far north lessens the (regular) need for air conditioning.
The southernmost point in continental Europe is about the same northerly latitude as Tusla, Oklahoma is. The tropical paradise of Minot, North Dakota is about as far north as Paris is. The average hottest day of the year (in Paris) is 77F.
I’ve been in Paris IN JULY and stayed in a hotel with NO AIRCON. And I can’t say I missed it (did sleep with the windows open). But they do periodically have heat waves that kill off a few of the old and infirm.
Inverness, Scotland, is north of Moscow, Russia. I’ve been in the Highlands in July and never took of my long wool underwear (except to bathe), even when I slept. And wore a heavy wool sweater and an anorak whenever I went outdoors.
Get very far north of the Mediterranean and Europe is colder than a well-digger’s bum.
The rich nations will find air-conditioned apartments nearby. No sweat!
Does this idiot mayor work in an office without AC?
Oh yeah, that’ll really help the “climate”.
Most definitely in Canada. There's an understanding that a pico-hydro turbine won't allow them to be off-grid. We're talking about if it'll cut costs more than it adds to cost.
My solar system produces 80% of the power we need in our all-electric home, including charging the EV which we do most of the driving in. That isn't nearly enough for me to cut ties with the power utility and be off grid. But it's plenty enough so that energy cost inflation doesn't mess up my retirement financial planning. That's the kind of thing they're wanting, if not 80%.
Or adieu, as it were.

The Saint-Denis area is the Islamic neighborhood of Paris.
Is that legal to restrict the global water flow?
And there are no screens in the windows.
—”The Saint-Denis area is the Islamic neighborhood of Paris.”
Nice neighborhood.
“Saint-Denis also holds the record for the highest rate of violence in Europe (31.27 per thousand while the national average is 6 in France) with 1,899 violent robberies and 1,031 assaults in 2010 (equivalent to an average of 6 robberies and 3 assaults per day)”

St. Louis, MO 2,016 per 100,000.
True dat. However, I never noticed a single flying insect entering my room, neither fly nor mozzie.
No washcloths neither, bot that's another thread.
And an ice machine? Fuggeadaboudit!
You win!!!
'Splain, Lucy. A pico hydro turbine temporarily slows a small bit of water (small by "global" standards). An example is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lvkgy-uni_U.
We got ice from fishmongers.
And the most sacred secular cathedral in France is there. It is really unbelievable what the French have done to themselves.
