Spanish police cars, well the ones in Catalunya anyway, carry automated defibrillators. Equipped vehicles have a little green AED sticker.

Like American cops Spaniards are trained as First responders. First responders are exposed to about 70% of the curriculum you get as an EMT. They have to renew every two years and need to maintain AED and CPR certification which is a whole other thing, but not too daunting.

In any medical emergency a cop, any cop if available, is the first resource to use.
