It was Montana, or one of the Dakotas. And you are correct, Newsom banned California State travel to the particular State (let's call it Montana), but went there with his family for a vacation. Like the rest of his Dem brethren he is always exploring new limits of hypocrisy.

Yes as I recall he went to Montana. State travel was banned to Montana and some other states, because some other states do not have liberal laws and policies on LGBT and climate issues.

Apparently it was okay for him to go to Montana because he was there on a personal vacation and not official business.
