I have a small savings account at what was once my home town bank in Vermont. I don't do much with it. Not much money there. I have my VA checks going there and I withdraw a little cash when I need it but it is not my main personal or business bank.

Yesterday, I tried to log in to their e-commerce site to check my balance. Forgot my password so I dialed them up on the phone.

"We're sorry. The number you have reached is no longer in service"

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you imagine? Turns out I mis-dialed. The bank is still open, I have more money in my account than I thought and I had a nice chat with "Karen" about why a small town in Alaska suits me better than the equally small town of my birth.
