When I first moved to OK...had a good friend and we talked Politics sometimes...He was/is a Dim...but voted Republican..I think it was normal in the 40's-50's, to 60's for Dims to vote Republican...
My Mom was a Dim...never asked my Dad.
I think they thought that the Dims were for the "working folks"....They got lied to.

We have plenty of GSDs (Good Southern Democrats) in NC who still believe Republicans are trying to unionize the world.
My dad was a democrat until LBJ came along. He despised them until the day he died. He didn’t care for RINO’s either.
