Hungary Today ^ | 3/2/23 | Hungary Today

Ron DeSantis, the Republican governor of Florida, is trying to put a stop to damaging progressive theories such as gender ideology and critical race theory in his state. His efforts have already seen some success, leading to some more or less appropriate comparisons between him and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Some mean it as an insult, others an endorsement.

Other GOP Governors are being passive. Maybe they shouldn’t be (unless they’re RINOs like Hogan)

I’ve been an Orban fan for 7 years now.

“I’ve been an Orban fan for 7 years now.”

I can’t remember when he first got my attention, but probably about the same time. They DESPISE him in the EU and US government because he won’t let Groomers have access to Hungarian kids and because he won’t agree to flood his country with ‘refugees’.

He just shows how far the West has fallen, as even 30 years ago, NO COUNTRY in Europe, nor the US, would have permitted either.

I’ve been a fan of his for longer than that. I lived in Budapest in 97-99 and learned the language. Orban was already an important political figure then. He had been the leader of the Young Democrats (Fidesz) which organized in the late 80s in opposition to communism.....this was before the Wall fell.

I then lived in Budapest again in 2003-2004. Orban was previously the prime minister from 1998-2002. He regained the office in 2010 and has held it since.

While Samantha Power and deep-state NGOs plans a color revolution in Hungary, the US MSM plans a color revolution in Florida.

The YouTube is long gone, but the transcript is in post 5. Very impressive.

Sebastion Gorka grew up in Hungary and worked for Orban. He just became a US Citizen in 2012.

I heard Gorka on Steve Bannon a few days ago state that Orban is a communist.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Hungary and like it there. The people there had 150 years under Muslim rule and don’t trust Muslims. Then they had communist rule from 1945 to 1989.

They are gun shy to change.

Orban’s illiberal democracy does function similar to communism and has allowed him to be the longest reigning head of Hungary.

Thank you for the link to the 2016 speech.

Per the speech.

forcing apart the thousand-year-old structure of Europe. It is forbidden to say that this is not accidental and not a chain of unintentional consequences, but a planned, orchestrated campaign, a mass of people directed towards us. It is forbidden to say that in Brussels they are constructing schemes to transport foreigners here as quickly as possible and to settle them here among us. It is forbidden to say that the purpose of settling these people here is to redraw the religious and cultural map of Europe and to reconfigure its ethnic foundations, thereby eliminating nation states, which are the last obstacle to the international movement. It is forbidden to say that Brussels is stealthily devouring ever more slices of our national sovereignty, and that in Brussels today many are working on a plan for a United States of Europe, for which no one has ever given authorisation.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today’s enemies of freedom are cut from a different cloth than the royal and imperial rulers of old, or those who ran the Soviet system; they use a different set of tools to force us into submission.

DeSantis has governed in a more conservative manner than Ronald Reagan.

Regan was a Democrat when he was governor.
You have to take that into consideration.

Yeah, DeSantis is like Trump, except he doesn’t act like a 12 year old, and he is actually getting things done.
Personally, I’d like to see DeSantis stay governor of my state of Florida, but my fear is that if Trump gets the Pubbie nomination that we’ll end up with Newsom as the next President. There is ZERO chance that the deep state let’s Trump win.

“There is ZERO chance that the deep state let’s Trump win.”

Fair comment, but there is also zero chance that millions of Trump voters* will go for DeSantis, unless Trump supports DeSantis.

*and don’t count me as one, as I vote AGAINST Democrats because I understand them (”WW3, anyone” is only the latest), but far too many other Republicans still don’t get it
