Buddy of mine bought a table for the Lincoln Reagan Dinner at the George R. Brown convention center. I almost blew it off as I'm so sick of FNC giving RD airtime and banning DJT, but decided to do a little due diligence.
He spoke for 30 minutes without a teleprompter. Good delivery, lots of red meat, pretty fired up. Crowd of 800 or so pretty laid back. Lots of pretty GOP women I have to say.
Not a single mention of Ukraine, which I see as the defining difference between RD and DJT. Ron's going to fall in line with Mitch and lose to PDJT in spectacular fashion in the primaries. But he'll end up as Trump's VP.
Just my humble opinion.
Given the attacks on RD from DJT that are upcoming I just don’t see RD taking on the VP role.
Agreed. If Ron loses the primary, which I do not expect, he’ll finish his term, and run for the open seat in 2028 after four more years of Democrat decline.
Agree it’s a long shot, but the insults could be performance art.
It might be the only ticket to beat the upcoming cheat. I like Kari for VP also.
Trump/DeSantis. DeSantis/Trump. Either way a winning combo.

My family is all from Texas and I do think they have the most beautiful women in the world there. I think Dallas may have Houston beat in a city to city comparison, and I have close family living in both, but if Dallas wins it's not by much. Houston has more of an international flavor, if that's your thing.

Trump will never allow DeSantis on the ticket, he wants somebody that is 100% subservient, and will probably pick a female like Kari Lake. From the looks of CPAC, a lot of Trump's picks are going to be pro-gay, which definitely isn't DeSantis. Steve Bannon was on TV pushing Lake for VP, Rick Grenell for Secretary of State, etc.

Florida law currently says state officeholders must resign their positions if they run for a federal office.

That may be true, but he didn’t shove NATO membership in Putin’s face like these warmongering idiots - Nuland, Biden, Vindman,McConnell, Mark Levin, Ingraham, etc. who think war is good as long as the money laundering corruption stays hidden.

No, I lost interest in hearing any more from Bannon yesterday after his stumping for Grenell for Secretary of State during his rally there. According to some articles posted today, apparently he mostly attacked Fox News, who notably avoided the conference this year. It’s a shame how everything is falling apart, but when part of the party starts embracing sodomy as Trump and his team are, not to mention the accusations of gay assault on the current president of CPAC, it’s turning into a dumpster fire.

The reason that a president and vice president don’t come from the same state is because electors are still required to vote for one candidate not from their home state.
So essentially the VP on the ticket could lose if the electoral votes of his state are necessary to win. Florida has too many electoral votes to try this trick.

IMO, I believe Prez Trump and DeSantis are not at ‘odds’ with each other and baiting the Rats and the Fake News. Trump wants one more term to clean up the scum, as the Prez puts it, in the swamp then it’s all DeSantis in 2028.
