That is utter nonsense. I am rock ribbed LCMS Lutheran, my wife is Catholic. We had to do an interview with my wife’s then priest, and I filled out a questionnaire beforehand, B4 getting a blessing of the vows (we got same in my church too, but no questionnaire) as we were originally married B4 a judge in RP. Questionnaire included some rather nosey questions but my wife cajoled me into answering all. Our daughter was baptized & confirmed in the Catholic Church, takes communion, and goes to a Catholic Church school. Many of our best friends (esp. my wife’s) are members of my wife’s church. Earlier this evening, we just had family photos taken for my wife’s Church’s directory (for the 4th time, I believe.)
My twin brother...solid Presbyterian...fell in love with and married a gal who was Catholic. Had a Christian wedding done by a local pastor. Later, in order for his (their) two children to be recognised by the Catholic Church as legitimate, he had to go through all of the rituals to fully convert to the Catholic religion and then have a second wedding but it be a Catholic wedding done in a Catholic church. THAT my friends is MY experience as a witness to how the Catholic church works.
