I’ve had it 3 times, maybe 4. Everytime I get it it gets easier and easier. For me COVID is just the sniffles AND NO TASTE OR SMELL.
Interesting study suggests nicotine gum helps restore taste and smell

The third time was a charm for me, Feb. 2023, most likely XBB, just a mild head cold, Dec. 2021 (Delta?), just a bad cold, Feb. 2022 (Omicron), put me in the hospital for two days after fighting it for two weeks. I refused Remdesivir but the Dexamethasone was what I needed to cool my immune response (Cytokine Storm).
The nurses told me to walk around the room as much as I could, helps keep the lungs clear. I didn’t feel 100% recovered until July 2022, long Covid? This last time I was ready, took Ivermectin (18.5 mg, twice a day) for five days with the first onset of symptoms. Just some head congestion and ears stopped up for a bit.
Paxlovid seems to help older folks but younger patients show no benefit. Patients taking Paxlovid can experience breakthrough symptoms after the first round (five days) but a second round usually works to clear the infection. There are side effects associated with Paxlovid because it is a combination of two protease inhibitors, similar for treatment to suppress the HIV virus. The side effects are generally mild except for rare allergic reactions.
