SOF had an article about how the VC dug some kind of a bell-shaped room to detect vibrations from B-52s or something along those lines.

The Vietnamese are clever and industrious people.
A friend employed some papa sans to make bar stools for the “club”. He gave them a piece of plywood with circles carefully laid out and a regular hand saw, for cutting 2x4s. Start with squares... octagons...like forever.
Soon it was two old men squatting with a scrap of wood and two nails, center point and OD. Pass it back and forth and strike the OD nail a bit deeper with each pass.
Typical for the area.
