Mexico is importing Cuban doctors to fill some local needs. But why is Mexico doing this? The real reason is money or hard currency desperately needed by the Castro regime. In the last month, we have seen critical reports like this in the Mexican media:

According to journalist Pablo Hiriart, the underlying issue in this state visit is the negotiation of cash resources for the Cuban regime, recalling that Mexico has imported medical services from that country and that this agreement will be maintained in the future. through the IMSS.

President Andres Lopez-Obrador's political opposition in Mexico is angry. They agree that it's about providing foreign currency to cash-strapped Cuba rather than addressing any needs in Mexico.

Interesting. I went to Yuma and crossed the border for dental work. Mexico's dentists would rather get paid by Americans and Canadians. Import Cuban dentists to Mexico? My dentist was very pretty and may have been Cuban. English was very good.

Capitalism is working. Americans going to Mexico. Cubans going there too. Can someone explain?

Btw-my crown fell out after 6 months.

Mexico is a soveriegn country and if they want to import doctors or anything else from Cuba that’s their business.

The most interesting part is communism is looking at people as an asset rather than a liability?

It sounds like Obrador is just another FJB. He puts potential voters from other nations ahead of his Mexicans. I guess he believes the dumbass gringos del norte will take care of his Mexicans. He’ll worry about Cubans.

I remember about 20 years ago when I was teaching in Kingston, Jamaica, and it was filled with Cuban nurses, partly because there weren’t enough homegrown nurses, and partly because there was enough US currency in the country to “pay” the nurses, with the money going to Castro of course.

This is the equivalent of the Havana regime going to the nearest pawn shop to hock the one thing it has that anyone else wants (except for bringing back Hyman Roth and the tourism industry, which is quickly becoming their last resort, in both senses of that term).
