Was there any ballistic testing that showed whose gun was used?

I know. He deserves it. Now S.C. taxpayers have to pay for the rest of his life. Shameful.

Lowering the boom would be a Firing Squad.

Just 3 hours to convict the murderer......."Maggie's body was found a few yards to the right of a doghouse,
while Paul's was by the doorway at the end of the kennels"

Followed pretty much the whole thing. Glad the jury did the right thing.

Wonder how viewing the crime scene influenced the jury's decision.
Does not seem to add much to the story.

I see a “Dahmering” in his future.

He got away with it! He gets to live in prison. Mabey he will get saved, but he should have gotten the Firing Squad.

I’ve never heard that from a judge, either. The evidence seemed strong and the entire story is pure Southern Gothic, haunting and dark.
I was looking at the photos of the property and kennels- it’s just eerie and bleak. It’s easy to imagine a double murder there.
The South Carolina House of Murdaugh has fallen.

That would be my guess as well. It seemed like he wanted to say a bit more to Alex but prudently restrained himself.
(My sense was that the judge was a grace-oriented believer; not showboating or cracking jokes, not basking in the glow of the media coverage but someone whose faith has taken deep root. I may be completely off the mark but that was my impression. He did well for the state of South Carolina)

Never brought up during the trial, but I wonder if there was any truth to the rumor that Maggie was planning to leave Alex?

Mother - Dead, Brother - Dead, Father - Jail....... leaving Buster - the surviving son....Houses and properties will be sold to pay debts.
Any man that blows his own son’s head apart is dead inside, if you’ve never seen what it does to a human body you cannot imagine how destructive 2 shotgun blast will do..... Five rifle rounds to his wife just as bad especially a high powered rifle.

Many will be quoted after this trial as saying they are happy that he got justice, but he didn’t. Justice would be the death penalty and nothing less.

As I understand had they gone for the death penalty it would be immediately appealed....this way he gets life as he never has known before.

Yes, she was. And it came out from Alex who said there were times at Peters Murdaugh Parker Eltzroth & Detrick when he was working on the listing of his assets for the divorce.

And that was graphically discussed at trial. Brutal.
This was a very powerful family in South Carolina for several generations, but no more.

Was that the kid who unknowingly (at night) jumped over that other boat that killed the kid and injured the victim’s girlfriend?
