My opinion, he looked at them both as his enemies.
Son ruined his life with the boat accident. Wife ruined his life by hiring a forensic accountant. If not for the two of them, he could have continued his druggie lifestyle longer. He was just plain enraged.

Notice no tears at his guilty verdict, unlike his blubbering during his testimony.
Stone cold psychopath.

Sure didn’t take them long to come up with that verdict! The judge congratulated the jurors for reaching the correct verdict in the face of overwhelming evidence. Not quite sure I have ever heard a judge say that after a verdict.

Yes, the judge said sentencing at 10 tomorrow. Judge also said what possible sentencing would be based on guilty charge.

Prosecutors did not seek the Death Penalty. Idiots.

Watched almost all of it. Could not figure out a motive, but the jury did.
Very impressed with the judge.

I doubt very much that Murdaugh will get the minimum 30 years. This judge will lower the boom on him.

The judge read off possible sentencing options according to law. This did not include the death penalty. Then he denied the mistrial motion by the defense.

I figured 2-3 days of deliberation then a hung jury but I forgot about small town society. Hey he probably did it even though there was certainly reasonable doubt.
