ping - people not going to movies as much other than the tentpoles. To your point on the other thread; people passively watch whatever may interest them on a streaming service.
Steven Spielberg talked about this more than a decade ago - said to bring people to the movies theatergoing has to become more entertainment than just watching a film... since you can do that from your couch.

Good. AMC is owned by company in China that owns most theaters in the world which is why you will never see a movie critical of China.
China has turned our own entertainment industry into a propaganda arm of the Chinese Government.

A) It's very rare for a film worth watching is released today
B) On the rare occasion it does happen more and more Americans can buy the bluray disk (or 4K disc) on ebay for $15 and then watch it on their 4K TV knowing that their fridge and bathroom are steps away.
Who would want to go to a movie theater today?
