I have been a proselyte to acquaintances to the point of obnoxiousness, I guess, but lots of folks I know now never get colds/flu anymore. D3/sunshine is also cited by some doctors and researchers who have done studies as the only effective medication for depression.

It sounds like insanity. The optimal vitamin d level is 32 ng/ml. A person has 6000 ml of blood, so the blood has approximately 192 micrograms of vitamin d.

There are more kidney stones among people with a level of 50 ng/ml. Ask the people suggesting these very high doses for a comparison of the effects in people who take these doses and people who take much lower doses.

There is a test of deactivated vitamin d, but labs don’t offer them. If some day they do, I think many people will see that the body deactivates almost all the vitamin d they take.
