Since when is it illegal to “stockpile” weapons? Define “stockpile”. How many weapons is a “stockpile”? Why couldn’t they wait them out before resorting to “my gun’s bigger than yours”?
A courtroom could easily have settled any legal questions—Koresh could have been detained/arrested any time he visited town.
