DeSantis can’t help who endorses him. I think for the most part it’s a cynical ploy by the likes of Jeb! to get rid of Trump.
Once they accomplish that, then they’ll turn on DeSantis.
DeSantis is best served by just ignoring it and carry on with his duties a governor.
For now, I will support both Trump and DeSantis, until to comes time to choose.

This game is stupid and I lose respect for people who want to be considered serious when they spend their credibility simping for Trump in the hope they’ll be part of the next Trump administration.
If the only way Trump can look good to these people is if someone else who is good looks bad, he probably knows he isn’t that good. Trump should be welcoming a spirited primary, which he should feel confident that he will win, not demanding a coronation.

But that doesn’t make sense. It would make more sense for Jeb and his gang to endorse Trump, as that would give Trump the conservative ‘Kiss of Death’.
Jeb and the Bushes, along with being establishment republicans, also got really butthurt by Trump’s campaign style... including ‘low energy jeb’
This is not necessarily an indictment that DeSantis is a bush-league republican. Just that the Bushes will endorse anyone who they think has a chance to beat Trump, and DeSantis is their best hope.
He’s not Trump. Simple as that.

I believe wholeheartedly that this what happened to Hearsal Walker in GA. he hitched his wagon to Lindsey Graham and the MAGA base stayed home HUGE mistake hitching themselves to the money the BASE stays home!! If Jeb intends to bring Bush league donors to Ron’s campaign and is all friendly with him etc. then that should put anyone off

I just prefer Trump for various reasons
Unfortunately, that seems to be a very common behavior here on FR for the last few months. One would hope that hysterical, knee-jerk "thinking" like that would not be so common here, but it is.
I have come to call it "DeSantis Derangement Syndrome", since it seems to follow the same pattern established by the people who hated Trump with such a mindless passion. Cut from the same cloth.
For all you deep thinkers, the same Wall Street people who bankrolled Jeb! are bankrolling DeSantis. Jeb! has lately been praising DeSantis, not to destroy DeSantis, but to destroy Trump and promote DeSantis.
Jeb was always the Fredo of the Bush family.
That’s exactly what this is, anyone but Trump and DeSantis is getting all the buzz as someone who could beat him in the primary.
Whoever becomes the person with the best chance to defeat Trump, all the non-Trump fans will line up behind him regardless of how they feel about person.
The chances of defeating Trump in the primaries are extremely thin.
Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Larry Hogan, Mike Pompeo, Asa Hutchinson, Chris Sununu, get real, all of them are posers who pose no serious threat to do anything even if Trump wasn’t running.
After dismissing hundreds of articles claiming that white supremacists endorsed Trump, the cult-like Trump supporters now believe the Bushes endorsing DeSantis has meaning.
That’s all it is. Ron DeSantis is the only candidate not named Donald Trump who has a chance at winning the nomination so of course he’s going to receive these types of endorsements.
And honestly, as long as DeSantis continues being the conservative leader that Trump never was, I don’t care who endorses him.
