For American FReepers who haven’t spent much time in Canada, as I’ve driven through the western part of Canada many times, I would say the political conservatism of provinces like Alberta is akin to states like Montana, Wyoming, and the Dakotas.
I’m from Ontario, which is pretty liberal. My brother and his family just left Ontario for Alberta. The kicker is that he’s more on the liberal side, and I’m the uber conservative. He doesn’t really appreciate how fortunate his is for having moved.
