By the way, on a list of the best selling artists of all time (per item via downloads, vinyl, or cassette) Drake is #1. Beatles, Elvis way down the list. I know it must be due to the manner of downloads being tallied, but this is depressing.
We’re in trouble.
Not suprised Drake or any modern artist is at the top.. Technology is different. The Beatles and Elvis have done mothing lately. Well, Elvis is dead and the Beatles broke up. The generation that listen to them are generally old and dying. The number of people alive today are more than back then.
Unfortnately many people here on Free Republic are still stuck in the past.
Why is it depressing that one drug-addicted singer ranks higher than other drug-addicted singers? Why would we be in trouble if some no-name guy called "Drake" (is that a first name or a last name?) is more popular today than artists who performed half a century ago?
