It is dirty pool to dismiss free elections on the grounds of being “brainwashed”. It permits anyone to reject any election for any reason.
There is no democratic system that can survive if those are the grounds for claiming illegitimacy.
The US “deep state” could easily claim that Florida elections are illegitimate because of the prevalence of right wing social media, “brainwashing” the electorate into rejecting the MSM narrative and its “fact checkers”.
Don’t forget - the election of Yanukovitch was not legitimate in 2014 because of “Russian meddling”. Hillary then imported that winning strategy after 2016.
