Outages are calculated by bill paying locations—those are single family homes, apartments and businesses.
Obviously there are more people in a “location” than one—on average.
Multiplying total locations by two is probably a decent rule of thumb—so 450,000 locations would be close to a million people affected.
Michigan voters are not responsible for election results. Geographically, Michigan is mostly conservative. Detroit votes (not voters) determine election results.
I wish I could tell you; my understanding is it’s Lansing, Wayne county, and Marquette that decide a lot of this stuff, but you’d figure after the “do” part of FAFO some of these people would learn.
Freezing temperatures in Michigan, in the winter? Who knew? This is totally unprecedented and more evidence of AGW. /s
p
It’s lightly snowing here in PA. It ruined my plans to plant tomatoes today.
Not a good time of year to be without power in Michigan.
We TRY to not elect her, here in the great upnorth, But the liberals in colleges downstate are, as usual in any state, the greater populations.
I am especially sick of her currently.
I would have given a lot to have Tudor Dixon.
Can you FAFO for those that are unfamiliar with that acronym? Ie. me.
They keep getting told the power will be restored later, and later, and later ...
Gee thanks.
Which state do you live in, please?
I want to find your large cities and see how your numabers play.
Ice storms are the worst. I’d rather have two feet of snow then a quarter inch of ice.
That’s right I do remember Tudor Nixon she was on Hannity and hearing her speak she made sense and I was sure there was no way she could lose. She didn’t complain after the election so I just assumed everything was fair and square. Having said that I’m surprised Dr. Oz didn’t bitch and moan about voter fraud after the turn out as there was no way Uncle Festivus WON that election. His poor debate performance cemented the deal, and why wasn’t Dr. Oz or even Trump going on about the steal there?
I guess they won’t be charging their EV’s for a while.
All concentrated in lower Michigan west of the Detroit area, white suburbia and farmland. Map has hardly changed since the storm.

Such a good point. I’ve let my car sit for a month in the winter...and started right up. I keep the gas tank pretty full.
Same tribe of reprobate Pubs paying for voting for Orange Man, just like Ohio.
She has a natural gas powered Generac so they’re ok...

Living without some backup energy and plan for how to go through any kind of failure of ‘public infrastructure’ is not a wise move... and when the location is a norther clime, better yet is to have backups for the backups.
Hmm. A downstaters liberal, I bet.
Sniff.
Only those way down south are without power.
Here in the great upnorth, 45th parallel, it is very bright, sunny, about 7-8 inches on the ground, blue skies.
A truly beautiful day.
With power.
We are 5-6 hours north of Detroit. About 45 minutes south of the greatest bridge ever built, Mighty Mac.
Chickadees are having their morning seed.
Snowmobiles whizzing by every now and then.
Life is good. Picture postcard scenes just outside the window.
