Been in the crafts for 40 years, mentoring and teaching for 20 of them. Where I work now the crafts can make 190k a year when willing to work overtime.
Better yet, they also learn life skills to maintain their house, car and other critical life features. Unlike their counterparts who go to college only to become indoctrinated adult children.
A good number of jobs are ‘unskilled’. We need people to do the grunt work.
It’s those “unwashed” trades that make it possible for them to do their jobs.
For all of their book-learning and college degrees, they’re too stupid to see that.
At least the “Elites” are.
Yeah, until they have a burst pipe, their car won't start, or their furnace quits in the middle of sub zero temperatures.
Add to all of that is the satisfaction to stand back and look at something you built. Compare that to shuffling papers some place.
