Yes, and this all happened in a free market.

I'd wager that most EV drivers today knew nothing about them until the government got their filthy hands in the auto business.

Since they are marketed as earth friendly, the gullible masses took notice (backed by government incentive), and here we are fighting the ICE vs. EV battle again.

While they may be great for Lichtenstein, Andorra, and Vatican City, they fail miserably in places like the US and Australia.

Yep, the problems with EV’s back then are the same as today’s problems with EV’s. The big difference is that your 1911 Columbia Electric didn’t spontaneously combust while sitting in your garage.
