I haven’t been able to keep up with the thread, there’s so much going on in Michigan right now “behind the scenes” and I want to keep the group apprised of it.

When the Michigan GOP did it’s convention last week (2/17/2023) to elect state party leadership, we successfully got Kristina Karamo in as the Chair despite a number of obstacles. We were partially able to do this via a great piece of caucus meeting work in a large district (”D9”) north of Detroit that while primarily red that has appeared to have been supressed over many decades by the Uniparty. In a very well done takeover using “Roberts Rules”, we were able to replace the team running the district at the caucus Friday night before the Saturday event, thus changing the dynamic of it.

This was no small task. It turns out TPTB running the Friday night D9 meeting had not only one parlimentarian (lawyer versed in Roberts Rules that can quickly determine if those rules are being followed), but THREE. One of them had been flown in from Texas and apparently was previously used by the McCain team(!!). In being able to overturn this district (and apparently similar work was going on in others), it was a major victory as the slate of people they were going to push for state GOP positions was put out of play (HYUGE).

We were therefore able to make major changes in the Mi GOP as of last Saturday (2/18). But this didn’t sit well with the Uniparty. They have started a social media campaign of slander. Additionally, ALL the staff of the Mi GOP resigned this past week, leaving Kristina Karamo (African American descent-only to point that out for the politics that is associated with it sometimes) and Melinda Pego in a deeper hole trying to do a transition new team (but possibly a good thing long term!).

I haven’t been able to keep up with this thread, but hope everyone is hanging tough. We’re keeping up the offense here in Michigan and hope everything is going good for you as well.
