Any train experts here? Is this normal?

I have some experience with "hot box" detectors. A hot box is an overheated bearing for the axle on a train car. A detector is a trackside device at a known point on the map. If a detector finds high temp, it alerts the railroad and the engineer. The train is supposed to STOP.

This train supposedly passed THREE hot box detectors which were supposedly reporting high temperatures and the railroad and/or crew supposedly failed to STOP the frickin' train....WARNED THREE TIMES according to reports!!!

My experience was in public safety where we would have stopped trains for long durations when a hot box detector did its job, but would tie up at-grade crossings and screw up traffic in town. The inconvenience was better than a G-D derailment!!!

I saw that film multiple times. The sensors failed according to the NTSB.
