I do not think the dog was stupid. I think it was his owner who was stupid, trolling Poor Trooper by the water, and tempting Henry, the alligator. I do not see why they had to murder Henry. There are places that he could have gone, where he could have more than earned his board and keep.

Wild animals are wild for a reason. They are unpredictable. But, dumb people who ascribe human tendencies to animals are at fault.
The time to move the gator was years ago. Take up a collection of the stupid people. If there’s not enough collected to pay for relocation, shoot it.
