I don’t think you’re crazy, but it’s only part of it. The other part of it is strangely not being made very clear to the American public, outside of “it’s the most important thing Americans should be concerned about”.

I was being a little tongue-in-cheek. I think there are a whole basket of issues that Western Global Elites obsess about. Of these, LBGTQ+ and Climate Change are the craziest and most prominent. But the bottom line is that they want to dictate to rest of the world and they can’t stand players, like Putin/Russia, who won’t toe the ideological line.

Of course, there are others (China, India, most of the Muslim world, etc.). But those will be dealt with in turn. At the moment, even with nukes, Russia is perceived as the most vulnerable and strategically important for the others to fall. Which is why they are being dealt with now.
