Besides the obvious questionable behavior, a couple of other things stood out.

I’ve heard about sloppy seconds, but the 63rd dude having sex with this skank is really desperate.

Taking a shower every 1 1/2 weeks is not only unhealthy but stupid, the story contained the following.

The number 37 rang in the ears of habitual bathers, who noted that the average American adult takes roughly 145 showers annually, according to a 2021 Harvard survey.

The average American takes only 145 showers ?? I take 365 showers, once a day..145 seems like a bunch of smelly disgusting people are walking around.

I take a bath every other day in winter. Every day in summer.

LOL...when I have been involved with things like camping or other extended activities where a shower is not possible, I can go without bathing for a period of time.

But I damn well find a creek or an ocean somewhere, where, even if freezing cold, I will immerse in it however briefly.

If that is not possible, I will at minimum, find a way to fully dunk my head, and always use a damp cloth for the rest of me.

I had the same response: “145 showers?”

When I was in the Navy, one of the things I especially despised was the “Navy Shower” where you are supposed to turn the water on very briefly, get wet, immediately turn the water off, soap up, turn the water back on, rinse off, then immediately turn the water off.

Granted, I absolutely and fully understand that the Grunts in the field don’t even get that, but it isn’t the point.

I swore, when I got out of the Navy, I was never again going to take a “Navy Shower”.

LOL, one of the retrospectively funny things about that was getting soaped up while the water was off, then hearing the start of the Bosun’s whistle signifying an unannounced General Quarters drill, where all the fresh water would get shut off immediately, first thing, no questions asked.

At the commencement of the Bosun’s whistle over the 1MC system, the response was universally a profane “S**T! S**T! S**T! S**T!” exclamation as you frantically tried to get the lathered soap off of your body before the water summarily stopped flowing!

And that was if you were lucky.

If you weren’t lucky, and someone in the engineering spaces had advance notice of the GQ Drill (as they occasionally did) they might well shut off the water before you heard the first note of the Bosun’s whistle!

On top of all this, they had people who were tasked with wandering through the heads during the change of shifts (12 hours on, 12 hours off) and if someone left the water running too long, they would bang on the side of the shower and yell at you to turn the water off.

Everyone hated those people.

So, when I got out of the Navy, I resolved to take showers as long as I could, until I ran the hot water tank dry (unless there were others in the house who needed hot water too, in which case I took a normal shower.) For decades, my normal shower has been a seven minute piping hot shower that turns my skin red, but if I need to wake up, or if my chronic back pain is flaring up, I can take a shower approaching 30 min.

When I first got out of the Navy and lived at home when I was commuting to college, my dad (a 30 year Navy vet) would sit in the kitchen early in the morning, drinking his third cup of coffee and smoking his fourth cigarette, and could shut the water to the shower upstairs off if he thought I was in there too long. And occasionally, depending on his mood...did!

I can’t start my day until I shower. Right after hitting the can, I’m in the shower, get dressed, and then my day starts.

“145 seems like a bunch of smelly disgusting people are walking around.”

And, your point would be?
