I think that has more to do with Omicron and better treatments. There wasn't much difference in the covid death count in my county during the vaccine rollout and last winter(2021/2022).

No, it's been declining because viruses mutate to more innocuous forms over time. Also folks are doing quit well with natural immunity. The shots on the other hand represent an existential threat to humanity.
