Hit my head flipping off a trampoline when I was in high school. About 1/2 hr. later I lost my central vision and by the time I got to the nurse’s office I was throwing up across the room!!

They sent me home.

Later in college I learned my brain was swelling and pushing out of the base my skull causing projectile vomiting and the arteries that supply the part of the brain that controls vision were being compressed!

You clearly don't understand. The term ‘stroke’ is often used generically to describe any type of stroke. That said, there are very clear distinctions between ischemic strokes (those caused by an interruption of blood supply/perfusion of a part of the brain) and hemorrhagic strokes (those caused by bleeding into the parenchyma of the brain - often from a ruptured intracerebral aneurysm). They are totally different. The only connection between them is that some ischemic strokes, because of the tissue damage, can eventually be associated with bleeding (called hemorrhage conversion).

That's not what happened with this child. This child had a preexisting intracerebral aneurysm. These can indeed be genetic and run in families. That's why if someone in the family is discovered to have one, other family members are generally encouraged to get MRI/MRA assessment to make sure they don't have one.

Aneurysms are not the only reason people can have intraparenchymal brain bleeds, but in a child with a hemorrhagic stroke this is at the top of the list - unless that child has leukemia with low platelets etc, or hemophilia.

Anyway, the types of strokes for which Covid and anti-Covid vaccination have been implicated are those in which a blot clot forms and blocks an area of the brain from getting blood flow. That's why the speculation about Covid/Covid vaccination being involved in this case is inappropriate.

This is what I do for a living, so I am not just making this stuff up.

You were very lucky. Sounds like you had a bad concussion with brain swelling and almost herniated the base of your brain - which would have been fatal. I’m very happy you weathered that and are here to write about it.

Yes, I do understand the context of our discussion. You’re still speculating as to what caused the stroke. Your expertise in the field is certainly admirable, but irrelevant as it concerns the factors the precipitated the stroke — and that’s not to say you’re wrong about probable cause. I trust you have the clinical skills to make a determination about the cause, but you’re still pointing the possibilities, and not the certainties.

My point is simply this — conjecture is perfectly okay, but offhand dismissals are not very scientific.

Legitimate question with the many stories of so many young people “suddenly” dying. Do YOU ever open your eyes and ask a question? Ghouls....what a Karen.
