My favored walking stick in the woods is a 5 prong pitchfork. Pretty wicked weapon when you’re used to handling one. Was probably 6 years old when first using one to clean livestock pens.

Couple of years ago a young skunk went through opening in gate to back yard, and chased our 2 Lab’s into a corner.
I ran it out from under the porch, picked up a LH RP Shovel and used it as a spear.
I did not get sprayed, skunk dispatched and I used the shovel to remove it and plant the remains.
Our dogs recovered, no long term effect.
