The net effect of the COVID overreaction and the "safe and effective" COVID jabs has been to accelerate public distrust in all authorities, whether civil, medical, or media. The ruling classes in this country greatly resemble the Communist rulers in the latter years of the Soviet Union. They still hold all the cards with respect to power, yet the number of the true believers has declined sharply.

As for the liberal media decrying conservative mistrust of the "experts", let us not forget that when Hurricane Katrina hit liberal New Orleans during the Administration of the younger Bush, the same media was highly critical of the government authorities.

If liberals did not have double standards, they would have no standards at all.
